Hi, I'm Ridith Shetty.

I am a 13-year-old student and maker based in Bengaluru, India. I spend my free time prototyping with microcontrollers (ESP32 and Arduino), experimenting with computer vision models, and building practical hardware devices.

At school, I help out as a Student Mentor in the Atal Tinkering Lab (ATL), where I assist classmates with wiring circuits, basic sensor programming, and 3D printing. I also lived in the United States for five years before returning to India, which helped shape how I collaborate and learn.

Projects & Prototypes

Things I've built with microcontrollers, 3D printers, and Python.

AeroVasita — Smart Safety Helmet

Hardware Prototype • Air Filtration & Crash SOS
2025 - 2026

A prototype safety helmet designed for two-wheeler commuters in polluted cities. It combines a small active air purification filter in the chin guard to reduce inhaled particulates (PM2.5) with an onboard accelerometer that detects sudden impacts and sends emergency coordinates.

• Won a 21,000 INR cash prize at the Seed The Future Entrepreneurs Hackathon (organized by Dassault Systèmes & La Fondation).
• Selected and demonstrated at the St. Joseph's University Open House 2026.
• Built in collaboration with teammates Mohammed Danial Ahmad, Mayukh Chatterjee, Thanush Kumar, and A Mohammad Zafar.

FlowGuardian — Crowd Density Monitor

Software & Vision • Real-Time Safety Alerts
2024 - 2025

An experiment using computer vision to monitor crowd density in high-traffic corridors, school walkways, and entry gates. The system uses a camera feed to estimate foot traffic bottlenecks and sends a notification if a designated congestion threshold is crossed.

• Exhibited and featured as a safety innovation at SIM 2025.
• Processes video locally to keep latency low without uploading raw footage to external servers.
Python OpenCV Object Detection

Chalk Cycle — Chalk Powder Recycler

Mechanical Hardware • Sustainability
2025

A mechanical recycling device built to collect chalk dust accumulated beneath classroom blackboards and re-mold it into fresh, solid chalk sticks using a small manual compression mechanism.

• Reduces airborne chalk dust that causes mild cough and respiratory irritation in classrooms.
• Simple, low-cost mechanical design that does not require electricity to operate.
